Pond Update

The shallow pond that I have been watching has dried up and the Tadpoles that were living in the pond all died. Nature can be cruel at times.

Pond Update

There are early stage tadpoles now living in the pond. I thought that the eggs had failed to hatch. I guess the eggs are tougher than I imagined. Hopefully there will be enough water in the pond to allow the tadpoles to grow into adult frogs.

Apparently, the Frog eggs survived the freezing temperatures of a few days ago. I have started removing rocks from the pond so that the Tadpoles will have more room to grow. Last year, the pond dried up before the Tadpoles were mature and they all died.

This is a small pond in the forest near my home. Some Frogs have already laid their eggs in the water. Last night we had a freeze, and I wonder if the eggs survived. I will post updates on the status of the eggs.
